What's included?
  • Pass or fail label on every appliance that we PAT test.
  • Material free repairs (small charges for the cost of materials on replacement fuses, plug tops etc).

What our PAT tests include:

1) Visual check of plug and cable - check there's no cracks or damage.
2) Internal examination of plugs -  to ensure correct fuse size, and adequate terminations of cables.
​3) Electrical Tests - Earth continuity (class one), and insulation resistance tests with dedicated PAT testing equipment.
4) Functional checks - Ensures correct functioning of appliances. 
5) Labelling of appliances - Pass or fail stickers for your convenience. 
6) Electronic test records - Hard copies available for a small fee. 
We carry out all our PAT Testing in accordance with the latest (4th) edition of the IET Code of Practice (In service inspection and testing of electrical equipment). This code of practice dictates the frequency for testing for items depending on their location.

The answer is anyone who needs to make sure their electrical appliances are safe for use, but here are some examples.

Our staff all carry CSCS cards, so can visit you on site, causing minimal disruption.

Microwave leakage testing
Although this test has been removed in the 4th IET Code of Practice, some companies still request that we carry it out.

This will be carried out at the same time as portable appliance testing, at a cost of £1 a microwave.
